Varrios Los Aztecas
Varrios Los Aztecas, also known as Aztecas and VLA is a multi-ethnic transnational criminal organization that started as a street gang in the El Corona area of Los Santos, San Andreas. They are considered to be one of the largest transnational criminal gang in San Andreas and it is estimated that there are tens of thousands of members in the whole state of San Andreas. Their wide-ranging illegal activities and notoriety has come to the attention of the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In the early 2000s, the government initiated raids against known and suspected gang members netting hundreds of arrests across the country.
The majority of Varrios Los Aztecas cliques operating throughout Northern San Andreas, other states and internationally are the result of Los Santos members migrating to other areas and establishing their own cliques. Varrios Los Aztecas cliques have been identified in 120 cities in 37 states and the District of Columbia in the United States, as well internationally in Spain, Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Lebanon, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador
Varrios Los Aztecas Culture & Criminal Activity
Varrios Los Aztecas gang members are required to abide by a strict set of rules. Failure to obey the word of a gang leader, or to show proper respect to a fellow gang member, may result in a beating, or even execution for more serious offenses. According to the FBI, some factions of the Varrios Los Aztecas gang have developed a high level of sophistication and organization. Varrios Los Aztecas gang members often identify themselves by wearing blue clothing and having gang affiliated tattoos. The Varrios Los Aztecas gang is occasionally referred to as the 'Children's Army' because of its recruitment of elementary and middle-school aged youth. They also allow other races to join their ranks making the gang Multi-ethnic, although the gang's members are primarily Hispanic.
'We recognize them as one of the most violent street gangs and one of the most prolific in the United States', says Special agent George Rodriguez, who until his retirement oversaw investigations for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. 'Cars are stolen and homes are burglarized by the gang routinely. On average, someone in Los Santos County is assaulted or robbed by VLA members every day.' he also adds.
Las Colinas Gangsters
Las Colinas Gangsters is one of the many Varrios Los Aztecas cliques operating within the state of San Andreas, not much is known about it and its members, other than the fact that its members are known to be violent and street-wise. The gang is named after the neighbourhood in which it was created, Las Colinas in East Los Santos. The clique was created in the beginning of 2011 when it consisted of only a few teenagers, since then, the gang has grown into a respectable size by recruiting mostly teenagers aging from 12 to 19 and has taken control of the drug market around the area it operates and its surrounding areas. The gang is still relatively small when compared to other gangs but the police claims that the gang is extremely dangerous and warns the citizens of Las Colinas to be very careful.
